Two stories by Rebecca Sheir, a recent graduate of the Nonfiction Writing Program, will air on public radio this weekend. Sheir's MFA thesis, a radio documentary, "The End as Beginning: An Audio Exploration of the Jewish View of Death," will run on Chicago Public Radio's "Re:sound," this Saturday (1/19), at 1:00 pm. The piece can also be heard online at the Re:sound Archive.
Another of Sheir's pieces will air this weekend on Weekend America, a live magazine-style show from American Public Media. Sheir, now a producer at Alaska Public Radio, writes, "It's about the incredible Zoya DeNure, a model-turned-musher here in Alaska." Visit the Weekend America website to see if the program airs on a public radio station near you.
