The International Writing Program Celebrates 40 Years

Next week, the IWP will honor its 40th anniversary with a ten-day celebration including free readings, film screenings, a global playwriting collaboration, panel discussions, social events and an exhibition. The celebration will culminate with the Paul Engle Memorial Reading by influential Slovenian poet Tomaz Salamun, as well as the opening of the exhibit “Community of Writers: Creative Writing at the University of Iowa” in the Old Capitol Museum.
