Frank Conroy is master of ceremonies, UI President David Skorton gives welcoming remarks and the reading is introduced by poet James Galvin, a faculty member of the workshop.  Nobel Prize-winning poet Seamus Heaney receives the $50,000 Truman Capote Award for Literary Criticism and then reads from his work Finders Keepers: Selected Prose 1971-2001 and a selection of poetry.
