Albanian poet Luljeta Lleshanaku begins the interview by doing a brief survey of her work and publications.  She describes how as a child she was moved by the sound of an Albanian folk song, and shares that music is a major influence on her creative process.  She says that during the Cold War, Albania was the most isolated country in Eastern Europe, and as a result, the contemporary international literary community is not familiar with Albanian literature. She reflects on how political and social changes in post-Communist Albania have effected contemporary writing. She describes her writing process and explains that she is a visual writer.
