The Writing University Archive is a project of the School of Library and Information Science in collaboration with the writing community at Iowa.

Gundega Repše Interview

Clark Blaise and Gundega Repše discuss the literary culture of post-Soviet era Latvia.  She describes the influence of modernism and post-modernism, as well as the challenges of making a living as a writer in Latvia.  At the end of the interview, at the 24 minute mark, an excerpt from the IWP panel “Writing a Myth,” plays.  In this excerpt, Gundega Repše answers a question from an audience member about Latvian culture.
