Course Details:
         Wines of Iowa III will visit selected Iowa wineries. Each trip includes a lunch, wine tasting, classes and tours (described below), and transportation. Whether you attended the first or second series, or not, are a wine novice or a connoisseur, you are sure to have a great time!

Take the Grape Escape Date: May 26

Pleasantville is home to Grape Escape Vineyard and Winery, Inc. Sample their wines, made from 100% Iowa grapes, in the winery’s tank area, and learn about wine tasting. Enjoy lunch at Pleasantville’s famous Checkerboard restaurant, and take a walk through the grape vines to escape from your typical day!

Wine Down at White Oak Date: June 2

White Oak Vineyards is set on almost 30 acres of land in Cambridge. Walk through the vines and learn about White Oak’s “signature grape,” planted in 2005! Also, hear about their new vintification process, which enhances the flavors and character of Midwest grape varieties. Enjoy wine tasting in the spacious tasting room and lunch on the patio.

Wined up a Creek Date: June 9

Brush Creek Winery, located in the heart of Jackson County, is full of scenic views and wildlife. Learn about this young winery’s different way of producing wines and take a stroll through their 1.5 acres of estate grapes. Sample the wine, enjoy lunch from Bellevue’s Happy Bean restaurant, and taste more wine with their delicious cheesecake!

Grape Babes Date: June 16

Visit Penoach Winery, Vineyard & Nursery in Adel, where the 1900-era farmstead is nestled into 10 acres of grapevines and surrounded by gently rolling hills. Learn from experts about how a grape nursery is operated. Enjoy a catered lunch from Adel’s Café in the Park, savor the wines and experience the relaxing atmosphere!

Port (and Wine) of Dubuque Date: June 23

In 2007 Stone Cliff Winery and Vineyard moved its entire production operation to Dubuque’s beautiful and historic Star Brewery, located on the Mississippi River. Taste some of their top selling wines and take home an engraved Stone Cliff Wine glass! Learn about food and wine pairing while you have lunch in their outdoor wine garden.

Vino with Italiana Date: June 30

Every winery has a story to tell, including Snus Hill Winery. Sample red wine with an Italian lunch, followed by a dark chocolate dessert paired with their Port! Learn how to read a wine label, and find out about this Madrid winery. You can even play some bocce ball, or enjoy a bottle of wine on the porch (which can be re-corked if you don’t finish!).

Cost: $75 per trip, $210 for any 3 trips, or $400 for all 6 trips
