Many places are struggling after last summer’s historic flooding, and one of the UI’s biggest struggles has been for the Arts Campus. During the flood the UIMA had to relocate hundreds of pieces of priceless artwork. Join the Museum of Art’s Director of Education, Dale Fisher, for an informal discussion about the transformation of the UIMA from pre-flood warnings to post-flood relocation plans. How do you prepare to move a museum? Where is the artwork being stored or displayed now? Will the museum be rebuilt?
INSTRUCTOR: Dale Fisher received his B.S. ed. in Art Education, with K-12 Life Certification, and a B.F.A. in painting, from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He also completed his M.F.A. at the University of Missouri-Columbia where he later served as Museum Educator at the University’s Museum of Art and Archaeology and served on the faculty of the School of Fine Arts. He currently is Director of Education at the UI Museum of Art and adjunct professor in the UI Art Education Department. $10 per lecture for lunch | |
